Day 279 – 20th October 2018 – Darwin

Today we were hoping to go fishing with a group of Col’s workmates but they were going at 6.30am this morning and we didn’t have time to get the boat and rods ready.  So we apologised and suggested we would be keen for Sunday if anyone else was interested, but didn’t get a reply.

Col decided to try and put the big, heavy tarp up on the frame over our van.  There is a light tarp up there at the moment but it will not cope with a big rain, so we needed to get the other one up as the rains they are a coming!  This was a big undertaking as it was very heavy.   We tied ropes to the tarp and worked little by little to lift it up and under the existing light weight tarp. We even used the car at times to reverse and pull the ropes to manourvre the tarp into postion.  It was a long day!

    1. Ha ha true! The frame is roughly 7m x 7m and the poles are only along the sides and it has a domed roof.
It is doing a great job, you can still sit outside even when it is raining (well mostly). So glad we bought it and moved to this site. A great decision I think.
