Day 210 – 11th August 2018 – Darwin, Moving day

Moving Day!  We bought a new cover for the van and rather than move the cover we moved to a new site.  I will miss our little frog family and our spot, we have grown to like it there.  But we think that the cover is going to help deal with the heat a bit better, keeping the sun off the van.

The new site is very close, so it wasn’t a big move and all went well.  We still left the boat at the other site as we are using the ensuite as a storage area.  It is only 100m away.  This is the Van cover I have been trying to describe.  This is not the Taj Mahal as we decided not to buy that one, this is a middle of the range one.  Pretty cool though.

While walking backwards and forwards between the two sites, I came across a couple of adorable baby pidgeons!!!  We thought they were baby Bush Stone Curlews, but then the mother pidgeon flew in and fed them.  They were just sitting on the ground cuddling each other and not much bigger than a golf ball.  I am wondering if they fell out of the nest while learning to fly.  I really hope that the Kites don’t spot them!  The Mum made a little nest in the leaves under the tree for them.

I was feeling sad about leaving our little frogs and went into the ensuite to give it a clean… and we have new frogs!  I think there are four of them here.  So happy.  Hope our other guys are doing ok at the old site.

In the evening we went for dinner at the Japanese Tepanyaki restaurant in Parap with Angry and Kat.   The guy cooking was hilarious but the dinner was stressful with him throwing food at you to catch, you had to stay on your toes or wear your dinner!  He had a very dry sense of humour and kept us laughing throughout the evening.  The food was amazing but we ordered way too much and didn’t come close to finishing it.  Great night out.

    1. We won’t at the moment, it is really beautiful to get a breeze through and it is a fairly big space too. But I think when the rains set in we might, depending how hot it gets. We will just play it by ear I guess.
